A bit of history..

Media

“Right now, I’m training in the media industry as a video editor. It’s definitely not the most stable job yet, but I’m in a building phase—gaining experience and making connections that I know will help me move into bigger creative roles, like directing. It’s challenging, but I truly believe in where this path is leading.

A big part of my journey is connected to a mentor I had early on. He really opened my eyes to what’s possible in filmmaking. Even though he passed away early in my life, his belief in me left a mark, and it’s a huge part of why I keep going. Every step I take in this industry feels like I’m carrying a part of his legacy forward. That sense of purpose keeps me motivated, even when things are tough. It’s more than just a career—it’s a way to honor someone who saw something in me, and that makes all the ups and downs worth it.”

Music

“My journey with music has always felt deeply personal. While many around me listened to the same sounds and were influenced by various artists, I realised that my path wasn't about being led by anyone. Instead, it was a genuine connection to the music itself. I remember as a child being highly attentive to the sounds around me. There was something about the music of the late nineties and early two-thousands that resonated with me on a profound level, even before I fully understood it.

Now, as I reconnect with those sounds, I find myself drawn to the old technologies that accompanied them—like vintage televisions, cassettes, and retro cars with their unique speakers. There’s something magical about those frequencies and the feelings they evoke. It feels like I’m rediscovering parts of myself that have been there all along, calling to me to explore deeper.

In a way, I’ve known who I am since I was a child, almost as if I could express myself before I could even talk. This attentiveness to my surroundings has shaped my artistic expression today. It’s not just about what I want to create, but about understanding my roots and the foundation laid in my early years.

While I might still need to turn this inspiration into a major investment or project, I recognize that absorbing these influences is essential. It’s part of my calling, allowing me to develop my voice and approach to music. I see my future as a continuation of my past, a way to weave together those early sounds and feelings into something uniquely my own. My journey is about honouring my history while exploring the depths of my creative expression.”

Theatre

“Another layer of my journey is my deep passion for theatre, which has been a part of my life since I was very young. I remember going to see plays, shows, and dances, and feeling completely captivated by the magic of it all. I was drawn not just to the performances themselves but also to the technical aspects behind them—like the lighting, the visuals, and how everything came together to create a powerful experience.

This fascination has influenced a lot of how I express myself, both in my daily life and in my own performances. I find that the techniques and artistry I’ve learned from the theatre have shaped my outlook on life and my understanding of creativity and collaboration. Whether I’m working on a technical project or creating something for myself at home, I always carry that theatrical perspective with me.

Being involved in theatre means I appreciate the intricate details that often go unnoticed. I’ve learned that every role, whether on stage or behind the scenes, contributes to the overall vision. This understanding enhances my creativity and makes me more aware of how to tell stories effectively, whether through music or performance.

I hope that people I meet see this passion as a reflection of my character. I want them to know that my love for theatre is not just about the art itself but also about the connections and emotions it brings to life. This dedication to storytelling and expression is an integral part of who I am, and I believe it adds depth to my relationships and interactions.”

Charity sector

“Another important part of my journey has been my involvement in the charity sector. When I was younger, I had the opportunity to be part of youth boards and participate in various youth services. This experience allowed me to raise awareness about important sensitive topics such as mental health awareness and give support to the community through my work, drawing from my own lived experiences. It was important for me to help others in my community who might be facing similar challenges.

Being involved in these initiatives has shaped who I am and reflects my commitment to making a positive impact. I genuinely care about uplifting people and creating a space where they feel heard and supported. My journey in the charity sector has taught me the importance of empathy, connection, and the power of awareness.

I hope that those who see this commitment as a reflection of my character. I want them to understand that I’m not only focused on my own path but also on contributing to something bigger than myself. My passion for art and my dedication to the charity sector create a balance in my life that I think is essential.
